PORT TOWNSEND, WA, Oct. 31, 2012 (Local News) -Port Townsend Paper Corp. officials are appealing the rejection of their application for an inert landfill permit.

PTPC President Roger Loney said Oct. 29 the mill is appealing the decision by Dr. Tom Locke, Jefferson County health officer, to reject the company's application for an inert permit. Locke's decision, delivered Oct. 17, gave the mill the option of applying for the more stringent Limited Purpose Landfill (LPL) permit or appealing.
