PaperWorks increases environmental certifications for its packaging group
"As an environmentally conscious company, our role is to ensure that at no point in our process do we mix certified paper products with uncertified products," said Kyla Fisher, Corporate Sustainability Director for PaperWorks. "These certifications show consumers that the products they purchase have been assured for the best environmental and social management practices in forestry."
"Our customers value forestry certification for a number of reasons," said John Hartwell, Executive Vice President of the Packaging Group. "Many of them have corporate policies stating that they only want certified wood products. We've heard their concerns, and responded by making sure our chain of custody is more rigorous than ever."
With forestry certifications available across every division of the company, PaperWorks continues to improve its status as a company that provides value-added sourcing options for minimal added cost. "We're proud to be proactive in offering sustainable packaging solutions," Hartwell says. "Working in partnership with all three of these valued certification organizations, we've ensured that we match and exceed standards for greener paperboard and packaging from start to finish."
