STRASBURG, VA, Dec. 2, 2011 (Local News) -A Strasburg-based business that employs more than 150 people has been swept up in a Greenpeace campaign against an Asian tree pulp and paper company that the organization says is destroying rainforests.

Mercury Paper Co., in the North Shenandoah Industrial Park, gets its tree pulp and paper from Asia Pulp and Paper, one of the largest paper companies in Asia.

The company's Paseo brand tissue products have their source in Indonesia, where the trees are harvested to make the pulp and paper that is later milled into paper towels and tissues at locations such as the Strasburg facility, and then sold to major retailers.
