WASHINGTON DC, Oct. 9, 2015 (Press Release) -American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) President and CEO Donna Harman today issued the following statement in response to the state of Maine filing a lawsuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for disapproving the state's proposed Human Health Water Quality standards.

"We're disappointed to see that EPA has yet again overreached by rejecting standards that the state of Maine deems appropriate to protect local populations. The state is right to file suit to protect its ability to decide what's in Mainers' best interests. We hope that the matter will be resolved soon in favor of the state so that it can move forward with implementation."
