In addition to native woods, which are important environments for the conservation of large mammalian species, swampy areas are protected as well, as they are essential for fishes and amphibians preservation. Other plants, like bromeliads, and small reptiles, for their turn, are protected through the conservation of rocky areas covered with vegetation.
CENIBRA's lands are intended primarily for the sustainable production of wood to supply the Compan's pulp plant in Belo Oriente. And sustainable production demands respect for the environment, including the conservation of native ecosystems as a fundamental condition. CENIBRA's protected areas comprise more than 3,000 water springs, which provide clean water to the existing communities around the Company's properties.
