Södra achieves top rank in world’s largest employer branding survey

VAXJO, Sweden, Sept. 2, 2019 (Press Release) -Södra was top-ranked among companies that assume the greatest corporate social responsibility. This was shown in the world’s largest employer branding survey.

“We play an important role in the communities in which we operate and assume great responsibility for both society and the environment. It is gratifying to receive this recognition for our hard work,” said Maria Baldin, Södra’s Director of Communications and Sustainability.

Södra took second place in the HR services company Randstad’s Employer Brand Research 2019, a survey of 6,200 Swedes conducted by Kantar TNS.

According to Randstad, companies that give back to society are increasingly popular among Swedish employees. This trend is particularly strong in the youngest group in the labour market. Social responsibility is given the highest ranking by the Generation Z age group.

“In recent years, Södra has carried out major investments and attaches great importance to attracting, developing and retaining employees. The results of this survey have given us new energy and are also proof that we are on the right path. It is really great that green industries are placed so high up on the list when the public rank Swedish businesses,” said Christer Thörn, HR Director at Södra.

In the 2018 survey, Södra was ranked Sweden’s most attractive employer.

Founded in 1938, Södra is Sweden’s largest forest-owner association, with nearly 52,000 forest owners as its members. We conduct modern and responsible forestry, and operate state-of-the-art mills in which we process our raw material. In 2018, sales amounted to SEK 24 billion and employees totalled 3,100. Through value-generating relationships and a long-term approach, Södra shows the way for the next generation of forestry.
