PARIS, Dec. 8, 2015 (Press Release) -Arjowiggins Graphic, a leading manufacturer of environmental paper solutions, published its latest CSR report, detailing its industry-leading milestones, ambitions to work towards a circular economy and its role in developing a more sustainable industry.

Agnès Roger, Chief Executive of Arjowiggins Graphic comments: “In 2014, we continued to develop our volumes of recycled paper and won new customers who have incorporated our products into their sustainable development policies, safe in the knowledge that we do not compromise on the quality of our papers.
There are still a number of misconceptions about recycled paper that we have to overcome. To do this, we support our customers, private enterprises and local governments with their sustainable paper procurement policies.”

The report, printed on Cocoon Silk 100% recycled paper, outlines:

  • Supporting the public sector: a French governmental report from the Deputy Serge Bardy generated a change in legislation, for public bodies in particular, as they are now required to use 25% recycled paper by January 2017. Arjowiggins Graphic has put the concept of a circular economy into practice for a number of years and wants to support them before any obligation to do so comes into effects.
  • Developing partnerships: the Recy’go initiative launched by French postal service La Poste is developing the offer to companies to collect their waste papers and to deliver them recycled paper in A4 reams. The promising first results are perfectly in line with the Arjowiggins Graphic strategy in terms of its desire to create short virtuous circles.
  • Developing office technology and desktop publishing with 100% recycled paper: two excellent examples in 2014 confirmed the trend of the importance for companies to promote their paper procurement and usage policies, and Arjowiggins Graphic can play an excellent role within it. On the one hand, the Xerox Recycled Supreme 100% paper, a 100% recycled A4 paper, created for Xerox printers, and on the other hand, the decision taken by Orange, the leading telecommunications operator in France, to switch all its desktop publishing to 100% recycled paper.
  • Awarded to all Arjowiggins Graphic manufacturing sites at the start of 2014 by the French National Organisation for Standardisation (AFNOR); ISO 50001 certification validates the efficiency of the energy management system that has been implemented. If 2013 was the year of the start of the project, 2014 was a year of consolidation and initial results. Here are three examples of concrete actions which are being used to make progress in the right direction.
  • Collecting €10,000 for the SOS Children’s Villages, which covers access to education for 500 children in the village of Vontovorona, near Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar.

Agnès Roger, Chief Executive of Arjowiggins Graphic concludes: “We are developing a wide range of recycled papers which do not compromise on quality, in order for us to be able to meet our customers’ needs. Manufacturing recycled paper is already making a contribution to a circular economy.”
