Thailand's Double A receives praises for sustainability efforts by Korea Green Foundation

BANGKOK, Feb. 28, 2012 (Press Release) -Double A's holistic sustainability efforts and strategic approach to corporate social responsibility (CSR) have impressed the representatives of Korea Green Foundation (KGF) during their visit at the paper maker's mill in Prachinburi, Thailand.

‘Double A has a great business model that should be practiced and followed by others', shared Mr. Choi Yul, President of KGF.

Central to Double A's CSR initiatives is ‘Paper from Farmed Trees' program which according to Mr. Goh Kun, Honorary Chair of the Board, Climate Change Center and South Korea's former Prime Minister is ‘hitting three birds with one stone'-a single program which tackles the issues that concerns the environment, community and economy.

‘As an Environmental activist, I will continue to mention Double A's story to influence people in choosing the right copy paper brand with less impact to the environment' added Mr. Choi. KGF was represented by Mr. Choi Yul, Mr. Goh Kun, Mr. Lee Jang Moo (Chair of the Board, Climate Change Center), Mr. Ahn Byungok (Director, Institute for Climate Change Action) and Ms. Lee Mee Kyung (Secretary General, Korea Green Foundation)

Double A has invited KGF to its pulp and paper mill after more than one year of partnering with the group in promoting what is best for the environment in South Korea. Among the recent activities with KGF are Green Film Festival in Seoul (GFFIS) and Green Promise Campaign in 2011.

The group participated in Paper from Farmed Trees program by planting their own paper trees on the KHAN-NA (vacant land between rice paddies) owned by one of Double A's contract farmers. KGF promised to return to Prachinburi in 3 years to check how their trees have grown.

The Korea Green Foundation representatives participated in Paper from Farmed Trees program by planting their own paper trees. They promised to return to Prachinburi, Thailand in 3 years time to check how their trees have grown.
