MELBOURNE, Australia, Oct. 25, 2012 (Press Release) -

Amcor is pleased to announce the release of its 2012 Sustainability Report (the Report), the 10th annual Report released by the company.

As a global leader in the packaging industry, Amcor has a vital role to play in creating a sustainable future. For several years, Amcor has been internationally recognised as a sustainability leader, with inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (Asia Pacific index), the FTSE4Good Index and the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (Materials sector, Australian and New Zealand Region). In 2012 Amcor's approach to sustainability was recognised at the Ethical Investor Australian Sustainability Awards where Amcor received the Environment Award.

Amcor's approach to sustainability is driven by the company's operating model, our risk management framework and our key stakeholder interests. The report outlines our efforts in the five key areas of economy, marketplace, environment, workplace and community.

The Report also demonstrates how Amcor's sustainability risks and opportunities are identified, prioritised and managed, supporting Amcor's adherence to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) Corporate Governance Council's Principles of Good Corporate Governance and Best Practice Recommendations - specifically Principle 7 (Recognise and Manage Risk). The Report provides a summary of Amcor's sustainability performance for the FY2011/12 period and is supported by more detailed information online. It has been prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative's (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Guidelines (2006) and AccountAbility's AA1000 Assurance Standard (2008). Netbalance, one of the largest providers of sustainability advice, assurance, and research in Australia, has independently assessed the Report and confirmed that it meets the requirements for the B+ GRI Application Level. Amcor's sustainability performance reporting provides information for investors and investment professionals who consider sustainability a key company performance indicator.
