Borregaard's Board of Directors has decided to invest in a facility for the production of Exilva microfibrillar cellulose (MFC). The plant will be built at the Borregaard site in Sarpsborg. The investment is estimated to NOK 225 million.

Effective immediately, or as contracts allow, BASF will increase kaolin prices globally for paper applications. Prices will increase by up to 7 percent, with the amount of the increase dependent on the product. BASF's energy surcharge policy remains unchanged with the threshold at $5/mmbtu.
