HEIDENHEIM, Germany, Sept. 12, 2019 (Press Release) -Increasing production capacity by over 90 percent and switching to more economic raw materials while increasing cleanliness of the end products – these were the two goals of the Serbian paper manufacturer Umka d.o.o. when upgrading its cardboard machine BM1. SAO PAULO, Sept. 10, 2019 (PPI Latin America) -Mexican packaging producer Gondi Group has ordered new software from Voith for its paper machine (PM) No.7, which is currently being built in Gondi’s packaging paper mill in Guadalupe, a city located in the Metropolitan area of Monterrey, northern Mexico.
Gondi’s PM No.7 will have capacity to produce 400,000 tonnes/yr of testliner-type packaging paper and fluting, with basis weight between 90-250 g/m². The start-up is expected occur by April 2020. After the project, Gondi’s total paper capacity will reach 1.1 million tonnes/yr.Read more
ESPOO, Finland, Aug. 26, 2019 (Press Release) -Metsä Board’s Kyro mill is to begin using artificial intelligence for quality management on its folding boxboard machine. Supplied by Voith, the software uses measurement results related to the quality properties of and the mill’s process data. By combining various process parameters and using statistical models the system can automatically predict quality values and adjust process parameters in real time. This improves the production efficiency of the folding boxboard machine and improves quality consistency.Read more
