LANCASHIRE, UK, Feb. 2, 2015 (Press Release) -TRM Packaging, the UK's leading independent corrugated packaging manufacturer for the FMCG sector, has completed a £1m upgrade to its on-site corrugator.
The upgrade to the BHS corrugator has seen its width increased from 2.5 to 2.8 metres, along with the installation of the latest generation reel stands and splicers. This will increase the output capacity of TRM's factory and allows for the future production of F microflute.
TRM's ability to run F microflute complements the company's £3.2m seven-colour Göpfert Impression printing press and will enhance the print results being achieved on the printer.
The capabilities of the corrugator also allow the business to produce packaging that uses lighter and new technology papers.
Production director at TRM, Mike Introna, said: "Our ability to produce F microflute board combined with high quality print meets the increasing demand from our customers for smaller retail ready packaging and counter top display packs.
"This latest investment also gives us a new set of tools to further support our customer's as they seek to reduce the weight of their packaging and deliver environmental and commercial benefits.
"The upgrade to this machinery underlines the business' commitment to delivering the very best quality products to current and potential clients."
The corrugator upgrade completes the first phase of a recently announced £8 million investment announced by the packaging manufacturer.
