HELSINKI, June 10, 2019 (Press Release) -Stora Enso’s eco-friendly product for fresh fish packaging, EcoFishBox, continues to gain traction in the Nordic market. The latest company to make the switch from EPS packaging (expanded polystyrene) to EcoFishBox is Finnish fish packaging company Tuomaan Kalatukku.
The company, which packages around one thousand tonnes of fish per year, has made the move from plastics to the award-winning corrugated board solution. The driver was to minimise use of fossil-based materials but also to save on storage space and cost.Read more
OAKLAND, CA, May 31, 2019 (PPI Pulp & Paper Week) -A second major kraft linerboard project with global implications was confirmed this week.
Stora Enso said it would eliminate coated printing and writing output at its Oulu mill in Finland by September 2020 and convert one machine, the No. 7, by December 2020 to making 450,000 tonnes/yr of kraft linerboard. HELSINKI, May 31, 2019 (Press Release) -The shareholders of Bergvik Skog AB, a Swedish forest holding company, have finalised the previously announced restructuring of its ownership. Stora Enso’s forest holdings in Sweden will increase to 1.4 million hectares, of which 1.15 million hectares is productive forest land. Prior to the transaction, Stora Enso’s indirect share of Bergvik Skog’s productive forest land was 936 thousand hectares.Read more
