ESPOO, Finland, June 18, 2019 (Press Release) -Valmet will supply an extensive paper machine grade conversion rebuild for Stora Enso at its Oulu Mill in Finland. In the project, originally Valmet-supplied paper machine PM 7, which is currently producing fine papers, will be rebuilt to produce high-quality virgin-fiber-based kraftliner grades.
The order is included in Valmet's orders received of the second quarter 2019. The value of the order will not be disclosed.Read more

HELSINKI, June 10, 2019 (Press Release) -Stora Enso’s eco-friendly product for fresh fish packaging, EcoFishBox, continues to gain traction in the Nordic market. The latest company to make the switch from EPS packaging (expanded polystyrene) to EcoFishBox is Finnish fish packaging company Tuomaan Kalatukku.
The company, which packages around one thousand tonnes of fish per year, has made the move from plastics to the award-winning corrugated board solution. The driver was to minimise use of fossil-based materials but also to save on storage space and cost.Read more
OAKLAND, CA, May 31, 2019 (PPI Pulp & Paper Week) -A second major kraft linerboard project with global implications was confirmed this week.
Stora Enso said it would eliminate coated printing and writing output at its Oulu mill in Finland by September 2020 and convert one machine, the No. 7, by December 2020 to making 450,000 tonnes/yr of kraft linerboard. Stora Enso said PM No. 7's new output "will target global export markets."Read more
HELSINKI, May 31, 2019 (Press Release) -The shareholders of Bergvik Skog AB, a Swedish forest holding company, have finalised the previously announced restructuring of its ownership. Stora Enso’s forest holdings in Sweden will increase to 1.4 million hectares, of which 1.15 million hectares is productive forest land. Prior to the transaction, Stora Enso’s indirect share of Bergvik Skog’s productive forest land was 936 thousand hectares.Read more
