ATLANTA, GA, Feb. 18, 2020 (Press Release) -Beginning in October 2019, the silhouette of the Green Bay Broadway (GBB) mill began to change. The first of two 400-foot stacks, a significant part of the Green Bay skyline for decades, started to be removed. The north stack was no longer being used for exhaust after GBB replaced a coal-fired boiler with a new natural gas boiler back in 2015. The mill is installing another natural gas boiler in late 2020 while the remaining south stack is scheduled for removal in 2021.Read more
DALLAS, Feb. 5, 2020 (Press Release) -The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has lodged an Amended Consent Decree with Georgia-Pacific Chemicals LLC and Georgia-Pacific Consumer Operations LLC (Georgia-Pacific) that resolves alleged violations of the Clean Air Act (CAA) at the companies’ paper and chemical manufacturing facilities in Crossett, Arkansas. TOLEDO, OR, Dec. 26, 2019 (Local News) -The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality levied fines this month totaling $27,106 against the Georgia-Pacific Pulp and Paper Mill in Toledo regarding three separate incidents — two involving unexpected releases from the mill’s wastewater treatment system and one involving a lab testing issue.
Despite the fact that all three incidents occurred more than a year ago, DEQ just assessed the fines in December.Read more
GREEN BAY, WI, Nov. 12, 2019 (Local News) -Georgia-Pacific’s Broadway Street Mill in Green Bay has taken down one of their smokestacks.
The 400-foot tall smokestack came down due to wanting to move away from and to start using natural gas.
Taking down the smokestack marks the end of a project that has lasted around two months.Read more

Stora Enso said it would eliminate coated printing and writing output at its Oulu mill in Finland by September 2020 and convert one machine, the No. 7, by December 2020 to making 450,000 tonnes/yr of kraft linerboard.
