BRUSSELS, Nov 7, 2014 (RISI) - Spain's Ence is moving ahead with its plan to develop two biomass facilities on the Canary Islands. According to the Las Palmas port authority, the legal entity Ence Energía Gran Canaria Dos has applied for a land use concession for an area of around 41,000 m² for the generation of energy from biomass in the service area of the port of Las Palmas.Read more

BRUSSELS, Feb. 27, 2014 (RISI) - Spain's pulp giant Ence has warned that the country's energy reform might have serious consequences for its business. Not only does the company expect a sharp decline in profits, it also warned that its Huelva pulp mill might no longer be competitive if a draft ministerial order that was released earlier this month is confirmed.

BRUSSELS, Nov. 21, 2013 (RISI) - Ence continues to improve the ecological footprint of its pulp mills. The firm just inaugurated a new Euro 11 million ($14.9 million) wastewater treatment facility at its Navia pulp mill in northeastern Spain.
According to Ence, a joint venture formed by Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies and Inelecma was commissioned to build the new treatment plant with a capacity amounting to 50,000 m³/day.Read more
