Fibria Celulose, the world's largest producer of eucalyptus pulp, sends 360,000 tons of pulp a year from Brazil into Tioga on the Delaware River, an operation that supports the jobs of 160 stevedores and terminal workers. And now other wood-pulp companies are looking to come, too.Read more
SAO PAULO, 17 August 2015 (RISI) - Eldorado Brasil has issued its 2014 Sustainability Report. According to the document, the company hit a production of 1.56 million tonnes of bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp at its Três Lagoas mill, in Mato Grosso do Sul state, Midwest Brazil. This year, Eldorado expects to produce 1.6 million tonnes of pulp, or 10% more than the mill's nominal capacity. The company is currently building a second pulp line at the Três Lagoas site, which will raise its capacity to 4 million tonnes/yr by 2018, according to the CEO José Carlos Grubisich.Read more
SAO PAULO, Oct. 23, 2013 (RISI) - Pulp producer Eldorado Brasil has received permission from the Brazilian national electric power agency (Aneel) to fire up the second biomass boiler at its 1.3 million tonnes/yr bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp mill in Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul.
According to the company, this will allow the mill to work entirely on renewable energy, while generating a power surplus of up to 30MW/h which in turn can be commercialized to third parties.Read more
SAO PAULO, Sept. 6, 2013 (RISI) - Brazilian pulp producer Eldorado Brasil has applied to the Brazilian middle west dvelopment fund (FDCO) to raise Real 1.4 billion for the expansion of its 1.3 million tonnes/yr bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp mill in Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul. The funds would be used for the construction of a new 2 million tonnes/yr BEK pulp line, estimated at Real 7 billion and scheduled to start operating in 2017.Read more
