The Brite project began 18 months ago with initial market research being undertaken to ascertainwhich new products would suit our manufacturing capability. With standard newsprint showing a marked decline in the Western European market our aim was to bring a new product on line with a substantial growth potential. It was soon established that an improved newsprint grade could meet the increasing demand for use within the retail sector for printing flyers, brochures and catalogues together with the magazine supplement market.
Last year the Brite project team at Aylesford began in earnest to develop the new product and after substantial investment and the completion of a Trim Bleaching unit into their PM13 paper machine in early July the first makings of our new Renaissance Britegrade were achieved.
Aylesford Newsprint is delighted with the initial reaction to their new product and will be perfecting their unique specification over the coming weeks.
The product portfolio offered by Aylesford Newsprint now comprises three distinct grades - Renaissance, Renaissance Smooth and Renaissance Brite. Each grade has been developed to meet the various demands of current and future customer sectors.
