Appleton expects to have the Monroe facility operational by November. The company will then close a distribution center it operates in Hebron, Ken., by the end of the year. The company will transfer the 10 employees who work at the Kentucky distribution center to staff the Monroe facility.
The Monroe distribution center is located approximately 20 miles south of Appleton's paper mill in West Carrollton, Ohio, and will enable the company to expand its distribution capabilities in the region. Appleton invested $125 million to expand company's thermal paper production capacity at the mill in 2008. The company's West Carrollton mill also produces carbonless paper.
