The latest listing, published today, places the company first out of more than 350 companies in the Materials industry group. AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands, Sept. 1, 2015 (Press Release) -AkzoNobel is to invest more than €1.3 million to build a pilot plant for coating resins at its Performance Coatings site located in Felling, UK.
The state-of-the-art facility - which will create three new jobs and safeguard a further 28 positions at the site - will provide resin samples for product testing and the possibility to scale up to commercial manufacture. Start-up is expected in the first quarter of 2016.Read more

AkzoNobel Performance Coatings is investing around €3 million ($3.4 million) to expand its research and development facilities in Houston, Texas.
The upgraded facility will support the company's Protective Coatings, Marine Coatings and Specialty Coatings businesses. Completion is due in early 2016.Read more
DotEye Powder is based on a technology originally developed for pulp suspensions. In a project involving PulpEye, AkzoNobel and SP Processum the technology was developed further to detect dots in powder streams. The so-called 4D method looks at the whole value chain and is designed to measure both positive and negative environmental, human, social and financial impact. AkzoNobel's Specialty Chemicals business recently broke ground on a new alkoxylation facility in Ningbo, China, bringing the company's total investment in the strategic multi-site to more than €400 million.
As well as contributing to AkzoNobel's position as one of the leading surfactant producers in China, the new facility also creates a more sustainable footprint in the region and will enable the company to better serve its customers.
