VILLEJUST, France, July 30, 2013 (Press Release) -OMNOVA Solutions' Performance Chemicals facility in Le Havre, France successfully renewed its ISO 14001:2004 certification. Following a third-party audit by LRQA Business Assurance in May, the plant retained ISO 14001:2004 certification, which is an environmental standard signifying the facility's commitment to identify and reduce the environmental impact of its operations.

Achieving ISO 14001:2004 certification is a significant part of the Le Havre plant's overall safety, health and environmental efforts, and supports OMNOVA's global focus on continuous improvement in every facet of its business. As a Responsible Care® company, OMNOVA is committed to reducing its environmental footprint through sustainable operations and products and to supporting the communities in which its employees work and live.

The audit identified a number of strengths upon which the plant can build to fulfill its commitment to enhancing its operational excellence objectives, including:

  • Employees are highly attentive to environmental issues

  • Employees are involved in efficient waste management

  • Human resources and communications policies reflect the value of the environment

  • Safety and environmental guidelines for subcontractors are rigorously managed

The Le Havre plant's ISO 14001:2004 certification is valid until June 2016.
