HELSINKI, Aug. 20, 2013 (Press Release) -Zellcheming Expo, the largest annual event for the European pulp and paper industries in Europe, took place in Wiesbaden, Germany on June 12-14, 2013. Kemira participated in the event as an exhibitor and had a clear message to the market: Kemira is dedicated to pulp and paper industry, and mature markets like Europe remain important for Kemira.

Kemira President and CEO Wolfgang Büchele took the stage at the official opening event of Zellcheming, and conveyed the same message to a full audience of visitors and exhibitors: Kemira is the only global player that is truly dedicated to pulp and paper industry.

At the exhibition, Kemira's focus was on the portfolio of products and services for paper wet-end. The promoted concepts included FennoBond strength technologies, FennoClean concept for microbiological control, and KemForm retention & drainage aids. In addition, Kemira showcased the new innovative next generation Fennobind binders and KemFlite monitoring and analysis tools for reducing paper and board machine deposit problems.

"Kemira sees a fair deal of growth opportunities in Continental Europe, even though the industry is seen quite mature", says Antti Matula, Director, Paper, EMEA. "New technologies help the industry to evolve and improve, and promotion of the latest discoveries has been one of our key targets here at Zellcheming. Based on the feedback from our customers, partners and our staff, it has been a success."

The 3-day ZELLCHEMING Expo attracted some 2,800 visitors and 205 exhibitors. The exhibition concept was extended under a motto "Fibers in process", and the new integrated setup was a blend of congress lecture forum, exhibition, and networking events with a focus on the modernization of the industry and the cycles of an innovative, sustainable bio-economy. Next year Zellcheming Expo will move to Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds, one of the largest exhibition venues in the world.
