SAN FRANCISCO, July 13, 2010 (RISI) -Penford Products announced a $5/cwt price increase on all pearl, oxidized, acid thinned, ethylated and cationic industrial starches, effective with shipments Aug. 1.

The increase will apply to dent corn and waxy maize starches, but not apply to Penford's line of specialty liquid products.

The company said the increase is necessary for Penford to continue to offer quality, service and reliability to its customers. The company develops manufactures and markets specialty natural-based ingredient systems for a variety of industrial applications.

Penford Products is headquartered in Cedar Rapids, IA, and is a leading supplier of specialty chemical starches to the paper and textile industries. Penford products add value to printing papers, packaging grades, tissue and textiles by bringing a higher level of quality to the finished product and manufacturing efficiencies to the production process.
