BIELEFELD, Germany , Feb. 4, 2019 (Press Release) -At the end of 2016, the European Union decided (No. 66 of Annex XVII to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 ("REACH")) to prohibit the use of Bisphenol A in thermal paper. Although this does not come into force until the beginning of 2020 we have decided to initiate the changeover phase earlier, and are changing to BPA-free products from 1 July 2019.

The aim of this is to ensure that no thermoscript product containing BPA is supplied to the EU market either by us or by our customers after January 2020.

The transition to BPA-free developers is associated with significant additional costs. Therefore, it is unlikely the new BPA-free thermoscript range will be provided at the price-level of BPA-contained variety.
