Huntsman reports fire at storage warehouse in Duisburg, Germany

THE WOODLANDS, TX, July 5, 2016 (Press Release) -A fire occurred at 4:50am on Monday 4 July 2016 in a storage facility predominantly used for packaging at Huntsman's Duisburg site, location in Homberg. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire remains unknown. The storage facility is separate from the production facilities.

The site and City of Duisburg fire-brigades, responded quickly and prevented the spread of the fire. However, as a precaution residents were advised to keep doors and windows closed. The City of Duisburg's crisis management team gave the all-clear at 9:00am on 4 July.

The authorities and the company's experts are now investigating the cause and extent of the fire.

The Company expresses its gratitude for the prompt and professional assistance provided by the public emergency response organisations and the plant's own fire-brigade.

Around 1,000 people are employed at the Huntsman (formerly Sachtleben) site in Duisburg. The location's principal product is titanium dioxide, a non-toxic white pigment used, in paints and coatings, plastics, cosmetics, man-made fibres and pharmaceutical products.
