Virginia regulators fine Ingevity carbon plant in Covington $43,000 for emissions
ROANOKE, VA , June 13, 2018 (Roanoke Times ) -A Covington plant that makes products used to control pollution from gasoline-powered vehicles has been cited by state regulators for generating its own pollution.
Ingevity Virginia Corp. agreed to pay a fine of $43,398 as part of a recent agreement with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.
The penalty came after emissions from smoke stacks exceeded levels allowed by a state permit granted to the facility.
