Read moreGRAZ, Austria, Dec. 20, 2018 (Press Release) -International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from the Swedish energy company Vattenfall AB to deliver a new biomass boiler plant with an external biomass handling system for their “Carpe Futurum” project. The plant will be located on Vattenfall’s existing combined heat and power plant site in Uppsala, Sweden, some 70 km north of the capital Stockholm. The new plant will supply district heat to the Uppsala area and is also prepared for electricity production at a later stage.

The new contract replaces the existing contract between the parties for the period 2020 to 2024, with a gradual reduction of annual deliveries from about 420 GWh in 2020 to about 130 GWh in 2029.
HELSINKI, Dec. 18, 2018 (Press Release) -Ahlstrom-Munksjö will invest approximately EUR 15 million to install a new co-generation plant at its Turin site in Italy. The investment allows the combined and efficient generation of power and steam needed for the site processes. The project will begin in the first half of 2019, and is expected to be completed by the first half of 2020.

The target of the company's Aittaluoto 2020 project is to replace the outdated low-efficiency power plant processes, decrease the use of fossil fuels in energy production, and meet the operational requirements of the industry in the area. The modernization will decrease the CO2 emissions of the Aittaluoto power plant by 88,000 tons annually. Valmet's automation will improve plant availability and emissions control.

Read moreOSLO, Norway, Dec. 6, 2018 (Press Release) -Statkraft and Norske Skog Skogn AS and Norske Skog Saugbrugs AS have entered into new long-term industrial power supply agreements for the period from 1 December 2018 to 31 December 2026. The total delivery will be about 14 TWh, with annual deliveries of approximately 900 GWh to each mill.
The contracts will contribute to the supply of power to Norske Skog's paper mills in Skogn and Halden, and will replace previous contracts between Statkraft and Norske Skog.
