VIENNA, Austria, March 25, 2013 (Press Release) -

In order to continuously improve its energy efficiency and sustain its environmentally sound operations, Mondi's paper mill in Raubling, Germany, has been awarded ISO 50001 certification.

An expert team has been assembled from all areas of the mill to implement the potential energy savings in water circulation, new projects and vacuum system maintenance. In addition, all employees have been trained in energy management to understand the influence they can exert on saving energy.

As well as the ISO 50001 certification, in the final quarter of 2012 the Mondi Raubling paper mill was recertified according to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and FSCTMChain of Custody standards. The mill has also been awarded DIN EN 15593 hygiene certification for the second time. A consistent hygiene management system is of vital importance in the production, storage and sale of foodstuff packaging.

Managing director Helmut Endler says: "As a mid-sized company, the Mondi Raubling paper mill operates in a highly competitive environment. By way of our ISO 50001 certification, we have established a new standard at Raubling. It shows that we, as a company, are committed to the responsible treatment of valuable resources."
