MADRID, Spain, Sept. 1, 2015 (Press Release) -Europac Group (Papeles y Cartones de Europa, S.A.) will increase the amount of its participation share in the interruptible service by 37.4% in 2016.
  • In 2016, the company will receive 1.216 million, 37.4% more than the 0.885 million allocated in 2015

Specifically, the interruptible megawatt auction held yesterday, on Monday August 31, established that next year the company will receive 1.216 million, as opposed to the 0.885 million that it will have received at the end of this year.

The interruptible service is a regulation mechanism that creates a balance between the energy offer and demand. Managed by the Spanish Electricity Network (REE), when there is a sudden reduction in the supply or a one-off excess in the energy demand, the service is activated, leading to a reduction or an interruption in consumption at large national industries.
