HALIFAX, NS, Aug. 23, 2011 (Chronicleherald.ca) -Premier Darrell Dexter is offering marketing assistance to the troubled NewPage paper mill in an effort to keep the Point Tupper operation running.

After meeting with top mill managers for an hour this morning, the premier said the province is willing to pitch in on marketing efforts to Asia and South America.

He also took a shot at Nova Scotia Power Inc., saying the company needs to drop its request for a bigger profit, and to give businesses and consumers alike a break.
