LONGVIEW, WA, Jan. 24, 2011 (Longview Daily News) -Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging Inc. is back on track to build a biomass boiler or upgrade existing generators by 2013, company officials said this month.

Earlier this month, under pressure from members of Congress, the federal Environmental Protection Agency shelved a plan to increase regulations of greenhouse gases emitted by biomass facilities. Agency officials said they needed more time to determine whether burning wood waste qualifies as a green fuel.

"It does take away some of the delays we could have been facing. It's definitely good news for us," Longview Fibre spokeswoman Sarah Taydas said.
