TORONTO, Aug. 2, 2011 (Local News) -A Toronto cardboard manufacturer wants to build and operate a 140 megawatt cogeneration power plant in an industrial area of Scarborough.

Atlantic Packaging, which operates two paper mills on Progress Ave. near Midland Ave., will submit a formal proposal to the Ontario Power Authority in September.

The project joins a smaller one proposed by Northland Power for the waterfront Redpath Sugar property. Together, the two would add 185 megawatts to the city's generation capacity.
