HOBART, Tasmania , March 1, 2016 (Local News) -Paper maker Norske Skog will cut its electricity use in half for a week in an attempt to ease Tasmania’s energy crisis.

An amount equivalent to 3.8 per cent of the state’s weekly energy demand will be saved by the closure of a pulp machine and a paper machine at the Boyer plant.

Norske Skog’s 43mW reduction comes after Bell Bay Aluminium reduced by 32-40mW for up to five months and TEMCO cut use by 30mW.
