WALDKIRCH, Germany , Nov. 26, 2018 (Press Release) -The German state of Baden-Württemberg awards the “2018 Gipfelstürmer Award” to businesses that have completed a free energy efficiency analysis (KEFF check) and then implemented initiatives to improve their business processes. The Ministry of the Environment was impressed by the quality of the 23 submissions. The August Faller Group was one of the 10 finalists and is proud of the efforts it has made to reduce CO2 emissions.
“Here at Faller, we wish to make a daily contribution to sustainability. Even though we didn’t win one of the three prizes, it’s the fact that we recognised this potential and acted on it that really matters,” says Lutz Benz, manager of sustainability management at the Faller Group.
KEFF CHECK AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY ANALYSIS – HOW DOES IT WORK, EXACTLY?
The energy efficiency competency centre (KEFF) – an initiative in the state of Baden-Württemberg – supports and advises companies interested in energy efficiency. The free analysis offered, the so-called KEFF check, is also useful. It is carried out right on the company premises and clearly demonstrates initial areas of potential. Specialised areas are jointly discussed and measures developed.
One of these KEFF checks was also carried out at Faller, and the employees are pleased that the measures implemented led to the company’s nomination as a “2018 Gipfelstürmer Award” Finalist. The certificate was presented to technical service manager, Uwe Bechtold. Thanks to the active involvement of Technical Services, an impressive number of things were achieved in terms of reducing the company’s energy consumption.
Would you like to go through the KEFF-check? KEFF is happy to provide information about how the KEFF check works and the Energy Efficiency Network.
