Mr Otsubo has been President and CEO at Rengo since 2000, and also became Chairman of the company in April 2014. BRUSSELS, April 1, 2014 (PPI Magazine) - Jo Cox is somewhat of an entrepreneur in the industry. As managing director of Smurfit Kappa's Roermond Mill in the Netherlands he has been instrumental in developing a pioneering strategy across all aspects of the mill, in particular its revolutionary focus on bio-based practices.
Cox's achievements and that of the mill have not gone unrecognized as he was named Mill Manager of the Year and Roermond was honored for having the Bio Strategy of the Year for the mill's pioneering developments at the 2013 PPI Awards.Read more
A ground-breaking discovery: Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES), produced by plants, open the way to produce pulp at low temperatures and at atmospheric pressure. Using DES, any type of biomass could be dissolved into lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose with minimal energy, emissions and residues. They could also be used to recover cellulose from waste and dissolve ink residues in recovered paper.Read more
