Alaska Airlines partners with Elopak's US-based customer Boxed Water Is Better to start removing single-use plastic bottles from its flights

OSLO, Norway, Aug. 19, 2021 (Press Release) -Alaska Airlines has partnered with our customer in the US, Boxed Water Is Better, to start removing single-use plastic bottles from its flights.

According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the airline industry generated 6.7 million tons of cabin waste in 2018. Their partnership with Alaska Airlines will remove 7.2 million plastic bottles a year, which is around 98,000 pounds of plastic from their flights.

Valmet to deliver key pulp technology to Nine Dragons' mill in Beihai, China

ESPOO, Finland, Aug. 23, 2021 (Press Release) -Valmet has received several pulp technology orders from Nine Dragons for their pulp, paper and board greenfield project in Beihai city, Guangxi autonomous region, in China. The order consists of two complete fiberlines, two bleached chemi thermo mechanical pulp (BCTMP) lines, a recovery boiler and DeNOx scrubbers. The deliveries will be done in phases and the start-ups are scheduled for 2023.

Corrugated GP plans second digital US print plant, with startup in early 2022 in the Phoenix area

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 20, 2021 (PPI Pulp & Paper Week) -Georgia-Pacific (GP) expects to open a new plant with an HP PageWide digital printer in early 2022 in the Phoenix area, a company official told Fastmarkets RISI’sPPI Pulp & Paper Week.

“We are building out a new facility … for a second digital web press,” the GP official toldP&PW.

“This is separate from our mailer production site (but is fairly close in proximity)” that GP started up to make an envelope mailer product in Tolleson, AR. Amazon is the main customer for the brown mailer.
