Valmet delivers world’s first fully virtual paper mill to Mondi’s new production line at its mill in Ružomberok, Slovakia

Prior to the start-up of the Valmet-supplied Old Corrugated Container (OCC) line, the stock preparation and the containerboard machine, the new machinery’s virtual design twin is being used to train operators and other personnel.

Valmet’s delivery of the Old Corrugated Container (OCC) and OptiConcept M containerboard making lines to Mondi’s Ružomberok mill was announced in 2018.

Montreal port strike 'imperils' supply chains across Canada, Ottawa poised to legislate end to dispute

MONTREAL, April 26, 2021 (CBC) -Port of Montreal workers began an open-ended strike Monday morning, effectively halting operations at one of the country's busiest ports and threatening the supply chains of thousands of businesses.

It is the second labour dispute in less than a year at the port. A 19-day strike last August cost wholesalers an estimated $600 million in lost sales.

Under pressure from both the Ontario and Quebec governments, federal Labour Minister Filomena Tassi signalled on Sunday she was prepared to legislate an end to the work stoppage.

STOCKHOLM, April 26, 2021 (Press Release) -Metsä Fibre, part of Metsä Group, and Flootech have signed a contract on the delivery of a water plant for the bioproduct mill being constructed in Kemi, Finland. The delivery includes the water plant itself as well the installation and commissioning of its process equipment.
