New Zealand firefighters to enter Carter Holt paper mill site to assess toxic risk after flooding

OTAGO, New Zealand, Feb. 8, 2020 (Otago Daily Times) -Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) teams are this morning heading to the Mataura paper mill to assess whether the town remains at risk from an ammonia gas reaction.

Thousands of tonnes of a potentially dangerous chemical — known as ouvea premix — is stored in the former Carter Holt Harvey paper mill, next to the flooded Mataura River.

Metsä Tissue chooses BMH Ingenieure as technical pre-engineering partner for investment project in Mariestad, Sweden

ESPOO, Finland, Feb. 7, 2020 (Press Release) -Metsä Tissue, part of Metsä Group, announced in September 2019 that it plans to invest in increasing fresh fibre-based tissue paper production at its Mariestad mill in Sweden.

BMH Ingenieure (BMH Engineering) has been chosen as a partner for the project’s technical pre-engineering. The technical pre-engineering is expected to be completed by the end of 2020 with aim to create the preconditions for the final investment decision that could be made during the second quarter of 2021 at the earliest.
