APPM's BM 2 achieves output targets after large-scale modernization

NOVODVINSK, Russia, Feb. 13, 2020 (Press Release) -APPM's Board Production Plant achieved output targets after the large-scale modernization of the second board machine (BM2). As Dmitry Khrapach, Head of the APPM's Board Production Plant, said, in January of the current year the total cooking (sulphate and semi-chemical pulp) was 54.2 thousand tons.

In the first month of the year, the total BM1 and BM2 output reached 52 thousand tons. With that, the output of the retrofitted BM2 for January 2020 was 26.6 thousand tons.

HALIFAX, NS, Feb. 13, 2020 (Local News) -Nova Scotia's forest industry must look to investment and innovation in order to stabilize the sector in the wake of the Northern Pulp mill's closure, an executive with the province's only surviving paper mill said Wednesday.

Speaking to the industry's annual general meeting Wednesday, Allan Eddy, manager of business development at Port Hawkesbury Paper LP, said the closure of the mill in Pictou County was like a large wave hitting the sector.
