WASHINGTON, DC, Nov. 15, 2019 (Press Release) -American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) President and CEO Heidi Brock today applauded the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for bringing together recycling stakeholders, decision makers and government officials to celebrate recycling and identify solutions for a stronger domestic recycling system. Brock attended the second annual America Recycles Summit, hosted by the EPA at its DC-based headquarters on Friday.

DUBLIN, Ireland, Nov. 6, 2019 (Press Release) -The Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment Richard Bruton, T.D. today (Wednesday the 6th of November 2019) announced a number of proposed environmental levies to encourage more sustainable behaviour, which will now be put out to consultation.

Minister Bruton said,

JAKARTA, Indonesia, Nov. 18, 2019 (Press Release) -Today a coalition of civil society organizations published areportanalyzing the role Indonesia’s pulp industry plays in recurring fire and haze episodes affecting the Southeast Asian region. Through the end of October 2019, Indonesia’s fires have released an estimated 660 mega-tons of carbon dioxide (CO2), according to the EU’s Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service, almost double the CO2 emissions as this year’s fires in the Brazilian Amazon.

JOHANNESBURG, Nov. 18, 2019 (Press Release) -Sappi Limited is pleased to announce that its three dissolving wood pulp (DWP) production facilities namely Cloquet, Ngodwana and Saiccor mills have completed the Higg Facility Environmental Module (Higg FEM) self-assessment via the Sustainable Apparel Coalition’s (SAC) online portal. The Higg FEM is a sustainability assessment tool that standardises how facilities measure and evaluate their environmental performance, year over year.

LONDON, Nov. 15, 2019 (Press Release) -From today, Leeds residents can recycle even more types of plastic in their green recycling bin.

Leeds City Council’s waste service is now able to accept most pots, tubs, trays and cartons in the green bin. Common examples include fruit juice cartons, yoghurt pots, ice-cream/butter/margarine tubs and clear plastic trays for meat, fruit and vegetables.
