Metsä Board starts up new Euro 11 million sheeting line at its mill in Äänekoski, Finland

ESPOO, Finland, Sept. 16, 2019 (Press Release) -Metsä Board, part of Metsä Group, has started a new paperboard sheeting line at its Äänekoski mill in Finland. The investment was earlier announced in a press release on 15 November 2018. The new line will increase the annual capacity of the sheeting plant by 35,000 tonnes to a total of 120,000 tonnes. The value of the investment was EUR 11 million. The new sheeting line will enable quicker deliveries to Metsä Board customers.

Stora Enso and Fiskeby's recycling trials prove paper cups made from renewable fiber can be recycled to produce WLC

HELSINKI, Sept. 16, 2019 (Press Release) -Stora Enso has conducted a trial with Fiskeby Board in Sweden to explore possibilities to recycle used paper cups into white-lined chipboard (WLC). The trials confirmed that paper cups can be utilized as valuable raw material to produce WLC board without any investments or changes to the process conditions at Fiskeby Board Mill.

In Fiscal Year 2019, port-related industries announced $5 billion in new investment and 12,000 new jobs coming to Georgia.

HEIDENHEIM, Germany, Sept. 12, 2019 (Press Release) -Increasing production capacity by over 90 percent and switching to more economic raw materials while increasing cleanliness of the end products – these were the two goals of the Serbian paper manufacturer Umka d.o.o. when upgrading its cardboard machine BM1. Part of the project was thereby an upgrade of the stock preparation with an InjectaCell Compact flotation unit and InfiltraDiscfilter disc filter from Voith’s BlueLine portfolio.
