Hartmann to invest DKK 100 million to expand production capacity of its factory in US

GENTOFTE, Denmark, June 11, 2019 (Press Release) -As part of the ’Think ahead’ strategy, Hartmann will invest around DKK 100 million in expansion of production capacity at the group’s existing factory in Missouri, USA, during 2019-2020. Although the main part of the total investment will be made in 2020, the expansion entails an adjustment of Hartmann’s capital expenditure guidance in 2019 to a level of DKK 300 million from the previous level of DKK 250 million. Guidance is presented before restatement for hyperinflation in Argentina and does not factor in any acquisitions.

Port Townsend Paper settles with EPA for $300,000 after violation of Clean Air Act at Washington mill

PORT TOWNSEND, WA, June 10, 2019 (Peninsula Daily News ) -The Port Townsend Paper Corporation has agreed to a settlement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that will cost more than $300,000 for a violation of the Clean Air Act.

The incident has occurred since 2001 and was found when an inspector from the EPA’s Region 10 office in Seattle visited the mill on July 6-7, 2017, according to the consent agreement.

The mill was notified of the violation in April 2018, General Manager Kevin Scott said.

Chattogram Asian Paper Mills Private Limited, situated at Nondirhat area of Chikondondi union of Hathazari upazila in Chattogram, was accused of not operating the effluent treatment plant, ETP in short, as part of waste management.

HELSINKI, June 10, 2019 (Press Release) -Stora Enso’s eco-friendly product for fresh fish packaging, EcoFishBox, continues to gain traction in the Nordic market. The latest company to make the switch from EPS packaging (expanded polystyrene) to EcoFishBox is Finnish fish packaging company Tuomaan Kalatukku.

The company, which packages around one thousand tonnes of fish per year, has made the move from plastics to the award-winning corrugated board solution. The driver was to minimise use of fossil-based materials but also to save on storage space and cost.
