Rottneros Mill invests SEK 15 million in methane gas burner for fossil-free production process

SÖDERHAMN, Sweden, May 21, 2019 (Press Release) -Rottneros Mill invests SEK 15 million in a methane gas burner to achieve the goal of a fossil-free production process.

This means that the methane gas generated as a by-product in the new bio effluent treatment plant can be used in the mill's drying process. The burner will be put into operation during the first half of 2020 and, in addition to reduced consumption of fossil fuels, also means lower variable costs.

ROME, GA, May 20, 2019 (Local News) -Rome and Floyd County's economic development effort has a brighter future thanks to a public-private partnership that is bringing a $22.3 million natural gas pipeline upgrade to western Floyd County.

Representatives from the Georgia Public Service Commission met with Georgia Power, Atlanta Gas Light, International Paper and local government leaders at the Rome Floyd Chamber to laud the decision to replace a 4-inch natural gas line from West Rome out to the International Paper mill with a 12-inch gas line.

SCA cooperates with approximately 25 contractors as part of the planting work. This in turn means almost 500 planters will be active in the forests, from Svappavaara in the north to Hassela in the south. The planters are from many different countries, including the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Romania, Ukraine and Nepal. They begin planting in mid-May and continue into October.
