SCA acquires 10,000 hectares of forest land in Latvia

Latvian Forest Company owns and runs a number of forest holdings in Latvia. The assets comprise 7,600 hectares of productive forest land, 2,000 hectares of farmland and 800 hectares of other land. The standing timber volume amounts to one million cubic metres. Some of the other land assets are also suitable for conversion to forestry.

In terms of specific drying capacity, Celbi achieved 503.3 tons per day and meter of working width on the upgraded drying plant of 4.88 meters sheet width. Based on these results, it would be possible to produce more than 5,000 admt/d on a single line with a 10-meter working width. This would mean an annual drying plant capacity of more than 1.5 million tons on one single line.

Södra invests SEK 20 million for sustainable transportation solutions

As part of the process to achieve its fossil-free targets by 2030, Södra is now earmarking an investment of SEK 20 million for the additional costs arising from the choice of new and sustainable transport solutions.

CLECAT and ESC commit to accelerating logistics emissions footprinting and reduction

BRUSSELS, April 17, 2019 (Press Release) -Given the increasing urgency to step up decarbonisation efforts in the logistics sector, European shippers and freight forwarders are committed to logistics emissions footprinting and reduction. ESC and CLECAT stand for a universal methodology to calculate emissions from logistics operations, provided by the GLEC Framework, and support upgrading it into an ISO standard. However, this should remain a voluntary initiative led by the industry.

According to the company, it will ship around 3.5 million items without the emblematic blue and white bol.com box this year. Bol.com will also introduce shipping bags made of recycled plastic and limit the use of fill packaging.

LITOVEL, Czech Republic, April 16, 2019 (Press Release) -At the end of September 2015 PAPCEL closed a deal with a customer in Saudi Arabia to whom is now supplying a new Tissue machine.

PAPCEL delivered a production line for napkins, paper towels and toilet paper to the Middle East. The machine is supplied into a "green field" plant.

The project in Saudi Arabia includes the delivery of complete Tissue technology from stock preparation, machine and corresponding technologies such as sewage treatment plant, boiler room, LPG station.
