LEEDS, UK, March 14, 2019 (Press Release) -Asda has announced it has removed 6500 tonnes of plastic from its own brand packaging since February 2018. The milestone marks a significant step towards the supermarket’s ongoing commitment to reducing the amount of plastic used in product packaging.

Through product innovation and redesign, Asda has reduced plastic in almost 1000 individual product lines – from fresh fruit and veg to electronics and homewares – removing the equivalent weight of 600 million empty plastic bottles.

August Faller launches digital folding carton production in Germany, sets up jv with Irish Perigord

BRUSSELS, March 14, 2019 (PPI Europe) -German packaging producer August Faller has started up digital folding carton production by founding the new Worms-based subsidiary PackEx, which should speed up product delivery times and generate significantly reduced operating costs.

“Customers can place their orders with PackEx on a web-based software solution and receive the products in just a few days. This is much faster than the several weeks often needed by companies that use conventional production methods,” the firm said in a statement.
