Indonesia unveils more detailed land map in bid to resolve development planning disputes including forest areas

JAKARTA, Dec. 13, 2018 (Local News) -Indonesia’s government on Tuesday launched a more detailed map of land use aimed at resolving overlapping claims in the vast archipelago, including in forest areas, three years later than was initially planned.

Jakarta hopes the new map, on a scale of 1:50,000 compared with a previous map on a 1:250,000 scale, will reduce chances of dispute over the issue of permits for mining, plantation and forest conservation.

LESSEBO, SWEDEN , Dec. 6, 2018 (Press Release) -There is a long history of pulp production at Lessebo Paper. Thanks to a 50 Million SEK investment, the pulp will be re-commissioned mid-2019, resulting in 20-25 new jobs.

Valmet to supply new 36,000 tonne/yr Advantage tissue production line to Century Pulp and Paper's mill in Lalkua, India

ESPOO, Finland, Dec. 13, 2018 (Press Release) -Valmet has been chosen to supply a tissue production line to Century Pulp and Paper (CPP) in India. The new Valmet Advantage tissue line will be installed at CPP's mill in Lalkua, India. 

The order is included in Valmet's fourth quarter 2018 orders received. The value of the order will not be disclosed.

The order is Valmet's second tissue machine delivery to CPP's Lalkua mill. Cooperation between the companies started in 2008 when CPP's first Valmet tissue machine was installed. 

Port of Oakland scrap paper exports ‘winning the trade war;’ up 3% ‘despite headwinds’

OAKLAND, CA, Dec. 6, 2018 (Press Release) -A scrappy little export commodity at the Port of Oakland is winning the battle against global trade headwinds.  The Port said today that scrap paper shipments were up 3 percent in the first 10 months of 2018.

The increase in Oakland’s recyclable paper shipments contrasts with a generally challenging environment for U.S. exports.  That’s important because waste paper is the largest export commodity, measured by container volume, shipped from Oakland.

Ingevity to acquire Capa caprolactone division of Perstorp Holding in UK for $675 million

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC, Dec. 10, 2018 (Business Wire) -Ingevity Corporation today announced it has reached an agreement with Perstorp Holding AB to acquire the Capa caprolactone division of Perstorp in a cash transaction valued at approximately €590 million (approximately $675 million). The acquisition is subject to certain regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, and Ingevity expects to close on the transaction late in the first quarter of 2019.
