MADRID, Spain, Nov. 12, 2018 (Press Release) -ENCE extends the green financing of its Renewable Energy subsidiary to 69 million euros for the new 46 MW low emission biomass generation plant that the Company is building in Puertollano (Ciudad Real) and whose conclusion is scheduled for the end of 2019.

This financing has a maturity of 7 years and includes an institutional "bullet" tranche amounting to 43 million euros. In addition, it foresees the development of another 6.5 MW in one or several plants.

The leading UK plastic recycler also questioned whether a possible increase in supposed compostable plastics would make recycling messaging less effective while also leading to more contamination of recycling streams.

DAVENTRY, UK , Nov. 15, 2018 (Press Release) -The publication of the UK Plastics Pact Roadmap to 2025 is an important milestone in UK plastics recycling, according to The Recycling Association.

WRAP has published the document A Roadmap to 2025 - the UK Plastics Pact that looks at how retailers, manufacturers, recyclers, local government and others will need to work together to meet key targets for 2025.

The Recycling Association chief executive Simon Ellin said: "This roadmap will make a significant difference to how plastics are recycled into new products within the UK.

GRAZ, Austria, Nov. 15, 2018 (Press Release) -International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from Metsä Board, Finland, to upgrade two ANDRITZ screw presses at its Kaskinen mill in Finland. Start-up is scheduled for the first quarter of 2019.

ANDRITZ will upgrade two pulp screw presses so that they can be utilized as bleach presses in parallel with two existing ANDRITZ twin wire presses. The upgraded screw presses will ensure the availability of the BCTMP (bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp) line even during maintenance work.

Northern Pulp admits it is likely to miss Nova Scotia 2020 effluent deadline

HALIFAX, NS, Nov. 14, 2018 (CBC) -The owners of a pulp and paper mill in Pictou County, N.S., say it's unlikely a new effluent treatment pipeline will be ready in time for the government-imposed deadline of January 2020.

"We are at risk of missing the timelines by a few months," said Jean-Francois Guillot, vice president of operations at Paper Excellence.

"At this point, it's risky," he said. "I don't think so. We can have effluent treatment working by January 2020, it's just the discharge point, we kind of have to do backflips to make that happen."
