ESPOO, Finland, Aug. 14, 2018 (Press Release) -Valmet will supply yet another OptiConcept M containerboard making line for Shanying International Holdings Co., Ltd., in the city of Jingzhou in Hubei province, China. The new production line (PM 23) with a wide automation package is following the delivery of the previous OptiConcept M board machine (PM 21) announced in December 2017 and the three winders announced in February earlier this year. PM 23 is designed to produce high-quality fluting grades.

GIPPSLAND, Australia , Aug. 13, 2018 (Local News) -Kerbside rubbish from Melbourne's south-east suburbs will be used to power the country's biggest paper mill under an ambitious plan by Australian Paper.

The power plant, at Australian Paper's Maryvale mill in eastern Victoria, would be the state's first large-scale waste-to-energy project, burning 650,000 tonnes of kerbside rubbish every year.

Australian Paper estimates the $600 million project would produce 225 megawatts of power and reduce the mill's greenhouse gas emissions by 500,000 tonnes per year.

Georgia Ports Authority reports 12.7% month on month increase in TEUs in July

SAVANNAH, GA, Aug. 13, 2018 (Press Release) -The Georgia Ports Authority moved 378,767 twenty-foot equivalent container units (TEUS) in July, an increase of 12.7 percent, or 42,668 TEUs, compared to the same month last year. It was the second busiest month on record for the Port of Savannah.

"July was an incredible start to our fiscal year, with double-digit growth across our container, breakbulk and dry bulk operations," said GPA Executive Director Griff Lynch.

Valmet to upgrade recovery boiler at Ahlstrom-Munksjö's Billingsfors pulp mill

ESPOO, Finland, Aug. 13, 2018 (Press Release) -Valmet has been chosen as a supplier by Ahlstrom-Munksjö for the upgrade of the recovery boiler and surrounding systems in the Billingsfors mill in Sweden. The main objective is to increase the capacity of the recovery boiler. The upgrade will also result in a better boiler availability and environmental performance.

The order was included in Valmet's second quarter 2018 orders received. The value of this kind of order is typically above EUR 10 million. The upgraded recovery boiler is planned to be started in the second half of 2019.

GRAZ, Austria, Aug. 10, 2018 (Press Release) -International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from Taison Pulp (Group) Co., Ltd. to supply two PrimeLineST W8 tissue machines, including stock preparation and automation systems, for their mill in Suzhou, Anhui province, China. The machines will produce up to 120,000 tons of tissue per year and are designed for grammages from 12 to 42 g/m2 used for facial and toilet paper. Start-up is scheduled for 2019.

ESPOO, Finland, Aug. 9, 2018 (Press Release) -Valmet has received an order from Estonian Cell which will be delivered in two stages. In the first stage, Valmet will supply a conversion of the existing bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp plant, which will increase production and reduce steam, fresh water and chemical consumption. In the second stage, Valmet will deliver a slab press and conveyor systems with connecting control system. The new machinery will boost production capacity and make the line more cost-efficient. The second stage will increase the annual production volume.
