KaiCell Fibers completes Environmental Impact Assessment and submits report to local authorities in Finland

KAJAANI, Finland, June 11, 2018 (Press Release) -KaiCell Fibers Ltd’s Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has been completed and the EIA-report has been submitted to the local authorities. The environmental impact assessment report prepared by consulting company Pöyry covers three project alternatives and the so-called the zero option. The results of the impact assessment will be presented at a public event in Paltamo in June.

HALIFAX, NS, June 8, 2018 (Chronicleherald.ca) -The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board has issued a decision letter approving the continuance of the special power rate paid by Port Hawkesbury Paper.

When the mill reopened in 2012 after a year-long sales process, new owners Pacific West Commercial Corp. received a special load retention tariff for the electricity that it uses.

Under the tariff, the mill is to pay for the cost of generating electricity for it to operate and also make a contribution to Nova Scotia Power’s fixed costs.
