AAR applauds $132 million federal grant to improve Chicago rail traffic flow
WASHINGTON, DC, June 5, 2018 (Press Release) -Edward R. Hamberger, President and CEO of the Association of American Railroads (AAR), issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) decision to award $132 million in federal funding for the Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency (CREATE) Program’s 75th Street Corridor Improvement Project (CIP). This project will address one of the most congested points in the U.S. rail network by improving traffic flow through the region and freight efficiency across the nation.
